-
- 1 Major improvements vs. V1.0
- This is a short list of the most important changes between
- version 1.0 and 2.0
- • Class-N-Figures
- Apart from drawing a single exact defined figure, you can set a figure to
- be a class-n-figure, i.e. a figure that consists of n connected dots.
- For example, one class-n-figure with the parameter n=4 results in the set
- of standard figures, usual to any tetris program. Parameters from 1 to 9
- are possible (of course numbers greater than 7 will take a short period
- of time to calculate).
- • Randomized figures
- You can also set any figure to be randomized, so that the figure you've
- drawn will be modified before any time it is used during the game.
- This random modification can be set to be easy and rarely appearing or
- nearly unplayable difficult and many steps between these extremes.
- The modifications are performed like corrosion at the outline of the figure.
- • Interface
- The interface has been improved and conforms a greater standardization.
- It looks nice, especially the crazy shaped windows! Still it conforms to
- the Macintosh human interface guidelines even more.
- The program is also easier to use now!
- There are many new penguines now.
-
- 2 Short description of new features
- This is a list of the important new features implemented in V2.0
- • Class-N-Figures
- see above.
- • Randomized figures
- see above.
- • Interface
- see above.
- • Other Options dialog
- There is a new "Other Options" dialog that gives you the possibility
- to switch any sort of sound on or off seperately, and apart from that
- some other options like turning off the comments after each game etc.
- • Image buffers
- Version 2.0 has buffers with a resolution of the screen, not as version 1.0
- 8 bits per pixel. This will improve the display especially during game very
- much (this may need more memory, so this can be turned off in the
- other options dialog).
-
- 3 Miscellaneous changes
- This is a list of some other changes
- • Sets with and without highscores
- Allostris 2.0 doesn't distinguish "applicated" and "not applicated" figure
- sets as strict as version 1.0, the term "applicated set" has been removed
- from any documentation or appearance in the interface. Now you just
- create and edit a figure set, and then you can play with it saving your
- highscores, and if you want to edit the set after playing, the program
- asks you if to remove all highscores.
- • Figure set visiblity during game
- The figure set windows are now visible and active during the game, too.
- Of course it is impossible to edit the set during the game.
- This makes possible to view the highscores during game.
- Also some other controls are now available during game, for example
- you can now switch the player while playing.
- • Player keys and attributes dialog
- The player definitions are now a little easier to use and change.
- • Game performance
- The maximum speed of falling figures has been improved even for
- slow PowerMacs or Performas 5k or 6k. Also the game process should now
- be even a bit more continuous.
- • Sounds
- There are new sounds for buttons, popup menues etc.
- • Gags
- Try to find some!
- and many other improvements!
-
- 4 Bug removals
- This is a list of the bugs I fixed
- • Error handling
- The error handling has been improved, especially some cases
- when an error occurred during the game (memory full etc.) version 1.0
- stopped the game, but forgot to reset the status correctly, so it was
- for example impossible to start the game again.
- • Memory leaks
- A small memory leaking bug was removed.
- • Other bugs
- Some other minor or seldom occurring bugs are fixed now.
